440,000 Lego pieces were used to make the life size version of the popular model which took 2,688 hours to complete
The model is one of the largest in UAE and one of the largest ever made
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 17 November, 2021: The Toyota Land Cruiser has been a long-time icon of the UAE, achieving legendary status amongst automotive enthusiasts. Now, Al-Futtaim Toyota has immortalized the newest version of the vehicle, the Land Cruiser 300 in a full size Lego model.
The project, commissioned by Al-Futtaim Toyota is one of the largest Lego models ever made by a LEGO certified builder in the UAE, using more than 440,000 Lego pieces to make and weighing approximately 2,050 kg making it nearly identical to the real thing. The Lego version perfectly mirror the car's dimensions, with both vehicles being 194.9 inches long and 74 inches tall. It took 12 team members 2,688 hours to develop and build the full-size Land Cruiser.
Andy Barratt, Managing Director Al-Futtaim Lexus and Al-Futtaim Toyota said: “At Al-Futtaim Toyota we pride ourselves on always exceeding the expectations of our customers, whether this be in the form of our thrilling line-up of products or finding new and unique ways to get closer to them. We hope that our Lego Land Cruiser build will bring out the inner child in all of us as well as delight our loyal Land Cruiser and LEGO fans across the UAE.”
Since its launch in 1951, the Land Cruiser has continued to be selected by customers as the vehicle symbolizing Toyota’s quality, durability, and reliability. Seventy years later, in June this year Al-Futtaim Toyota introduced the long-anticipated evolution, with ground-breaking enhancements to the platform and powertrain befitting the king of SUVs.
The masterpiece will be on display at the Dubai Mall from 15th November to 15th December.
